Born on the island of Elba (in Tuscany), raised between heat and sea, at some point I realize my life is seriously lacking in cold and snow, so I move to Turin, where at university I study Multimedia, Television and New Media.
Basically a degree in “watching TV critically.”
In 2008 I knock on the door of Little Bull, the production house of ad agency Armando Testa, and end up staying sixteen years, working across editing, compositing, color grading and finishing. I bring to screen ideas that sounded dead simple in meetings and turned out to need a small miracle in post. Maybe two. Among other things, I learn that a 30-second commercial can easily take more than six months of work. And to this day, I still haven’t quite figured out whether my job is making real fake things or fake real things.
For two years I also have fun teaching video editing at ENAIP in Turin, just to discover that explaining a cut is a lot harder than making one.
In 2024, another shift: from the Alps to the Andes. I go freelance and move to Lima. The time zone changes. The obsession with details doesn’t.
In my free time I play piano and produce electronic music, because apparently spending enough hours in front of a computer wasn’t quite enough.
That’s how Neniun was born, one of my music projects.
